Summary

Alleviate's data engineer Erum Masood has been selected to give a lightning talk at the HDR UK conference next week.

Erum Masood, Data Engineer for Alleviate, has been invited to give a lightning talk at the upcoming HDR UK event, Health Data Research UK Conference 2024: The Grand Challenges in Health Data. This will be a great opportunity to showcase the work that Alleviate is doing in front of a wide audience. Erum’s talk is titled ‘Mapping Scottish Population Scale COVID-19 and relevant clinical Health Data to Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model (CDM)’ .

Erum said:

I am really thankful to HDR UK for providing me an opportunity to present our work “Mapping Scottish Population Scale Health Data to OMOP CDM standard to support FAIR Data Principles” on their conference next week. The focus of the talk is that with the increasing volume of health data, we need to be mindful that the data is created with longevity in mind. The FAIR principles describe how research data and outputs should be presented and organised, so it is findable, accessible, understood, exchanged and reused. Presenting the outputs of data standardisation of the Scottish Population Scale Health Data will demonstrate that by transforming data to a standard format and terminology supports FAIR data principles and ultimately improves research transparency, collaborative work and reduces duplication of effort.

With a prize for best talk up for grabs, please join us in wishing Erum good luck in what is sure to be a great event.
