Alleviate Pain Data Hub – Upcoming Conferences

Summary

September will be an exciting month for Alleviate when various members of the team will be attending many conferences and presenting the fantastic work we are doing in Chronic Pain.

Conference season is almost upon us, and Alleviate Pain Data Hub will be attending various events over the course of September.

First on our conference tour, Dr Christian Cole, Dr Phil Appleby and colleagues from the wider HIC team, will be attending The Seventh Annual Conference for Research Software Engineering (RSE Con 23) in Swansea where they will present a poster on ‘CaRROT-CDM: An Open-Source Tool for Transforming Data for Federated Discovery in Health Research.’

Dr Christian Cole and Gordon Milligan will then be traveling to Lisbon to attend the Neuopathic Pain 2023 Conference (NeuPSIG) to present a poster on ‘The Alleviate Advanced Pain Discovery Platform Data Hub: A national resource for accessing and sharing pain data.” They will join many colleagues from the wider Advanced Pain Discovery Platform (APDP) and Dundee’s Chronic Pain Group. Finally, to round off a busy month, Chris will be attending the 13th Congress of the European Pain Federation (EFIC) in Budapest, to present ‘Alleviate Advanced Pain Discovery Platform – The UK National Data Hub for Sharing and Accessing Pain Datasets.’ Meanwhile, Gordon Milligan, will be attending the inaugural OHDSI node meet up in Oxford – EHDEN UK meets OHDSI UK: Looking ahead – to talk about data standardisation with OMOP.

The Alleviate Pain Data Hub is a £2M collaborative project funded by a consortium of funders including Versus Arthritis and the UK Medical Research Council. The project is led by the University of Dundee and involves partners from across the UK. Alleviate is one of nine HDR UK Health Data Research Hubs.
