Summary
The UK National Pain Survey 2024, as part of Pain Awareness Month, is now live! Last year we received over 600 responses - help us increase that number this year and help shape future research.
Help Us Increase Participation in the 2024 UK National Pain Survey: Your Voice Matters
Chronic pain (pain lasting for three months or more) affects 35-51% of the UK adult population and there remains an unmet need of recognition and treatment. All too often, the unique challenges faced by individuals are overlooked. That’s why we have launched the 2nd UK National Pain Survey in collaboration with Pain UK, APDP, and adapted from Chronic Pain Australia’s annual survey. This survey aims to gather the experiences of those living with chronic pain in the UK. With your help, we can raise awareness, gather critical data, and make a difference in the lives of those affected.
Why We Need Your Help
Last year, we ran the UK National Pain Survey for the first time and received over 600 responses. This was a fantastic start, but we believe there’s more to be done. Chronic pain doesn’t discriminate—it affects people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. To truly understand the scope and impact of chronic pain, we need a larger and more diverse pool of respondents. This year, we aim to increase participation and capture the full spectrum of experiences across the UK.
This is where we need your support. Would you be willing to share our survey within your networks? Whether through social media, email lists, or simply telling your friends and colleagues, every share helps us reach more people.
Who Should Take the Survey?
The survey is open to anyone who:
- Is 18 or older
- Lives in the UK
- Has experienced chronic pain (pain that has persisted for at least 3 months) in the last 12 months
We want to hear from all individuals affected by chronic pain, whether it’s mild or severe, intermittent or constant. Your experiences will contribute to building a better understanding of chronic pain across different demographics and regions in the UK.
How You Can Help
- Share the survey on your social media channels you frequent
- Email your contacts encouraging them to participate
- Talk to friends, family, and colleagues who may be living with chronic pain and encourage them to take part
- Collaborate with us if you are part of an organization or group that supports individuals living with pain—help spread the word within your community

Your voice, and the voices of those in your community, are crucial in helping us create meaningful change. Last year’s responses were just the beginning—let’s take it further in 2024.
Thank you for your support and for helping us reach more people living with chronic pain. Together, we can ensure that every voice is heard and every experience matters.
Let’s continue to make a difference together!
